Kitchen Remodel in Lee's Summit, MO
This Lee's Summit kitchen was a standard builder layout: dated oak cabinets, heavy granite, a cooktop and oven stuck in the island, and a countertop microwave that ate half an upper cabinet. Scott and Carrie wanted a kitchen built around how they actually cook, so we redesigned the whole layout.
Before
The layout
The cooktop and oven used to sit in the island. We relocated the 220 outlet and moved them to the range wall, then added a custom hood built to match the cabinetry. The old microwave is now a full size microwave drawer in the center of the island, and a standard double sink became one large black single bowl workstation sink.
The cabinets
Sunny Maple Shaker, full overlay, with 1/2" plywood boxes, solid wood dovetail drawer boxes, full extension soft-close glides and soft-close hinges. Taller 42" uppers and a full depth cabinet above the fridge put the wall space to work.
The storage
The old kitchen had very little of it. Now there is a double trash pull-out in the island, big drawers, rollouts in the base cabinets and a glass-front cabinet for the good dishes. Every wall that could hold storage does.
The countertops
Calacatta Premata quartz, 3cm, fabricated with zero seams.
The finish
New tile backsplash, under-cabinet LED lighting, crown molding, and refinished hardwood floors to match.
